"A bunch of wide-eyed, but not in the least bit innocent, Dubliners whose music perfectly captures the time and the place they’ve grown up in”
Forty-years ago Hot Press were saying those sorts of things about U2. The description applies just as perfectly now to Versatile, the Ringsend rap crew whose tunes and videos, ‘We Sell Brown’, ‘Ketamine’, ‘Dublin City G’s’, ‘Whopper Trips’ and ‘Mad Scene’ among them, routinely rack up millions of streams and views online."
This summer Versatile made Irish music history and undoubtedly cemented themselves as Ireland's biggest Hip Hop group. June 2019 saw Versatile sell out a headline show at Cork Marquee ( 5,000 tickets ) in a matter of hours making it the biggest domestic rap show to ever take place in Ireland, making this a huge milestone for Versatile, Snoop Dogg played the same stage in 2010.
This was shortly dwarfed by their unforgettable set at Longitude Festival to 40,000 strong crowd. Following that they sold out their biggest headline concert to date in the Three Arena Dublin only a couple of hours after announcing it.
With Ireland now solidly on lockdown the future is bright for the Dublin City Rappers as they look to take Outburst to the masses.
