MPI Artists Welcomes Irish Music Icons Kíla to the Roster

MPI is thrilled to announce the addition of the incomparable Kíla to our roster. One of Ireland’s most original and genre defying acts, Kíla have long been recognised for their unique fusion of traditional Irish music with world rhythms, rich instrumentation and unmatched live energy.

Formed in the late 1980s by brothers Rossa, Rónán and Colm Ó Snodaigh, the group has evolved into a powerhouse of talent with Brian Hogan, Seánán Brennan, Dave Hingerty and James Mahon completing the current line-up. Kíla’s music is rooted in Irish tradition yet constantly pushes boundaries, creating a sound that is dynamic, joyful and deeply moving.

Over a career that spans five decades, Kíla have built a reputation for innovation and collaboration. They have worked with some of the biggest names in music including U2, Ronnie Wood, Sinéad O’Connor, The Dubliners, Shane McGowan, Glen Hansard and Dónal Lunny, always bringing their fearless creativity to the fore.

Known for their powerful and uplifting live performances, Kíla have performed on stages across the world and earned a devoted following at home and abroad. Whether playing to packed theatres or outdoor festivals, their shows are a celebration of rhythm, connection and community.

Kíla’s latest release Raise the Road marks another bold step in their musical journey. Featuring the Paul Frost Brass Band, this vibrant new album captures the spirit of a live Kíla performance while introducing fresh layers of sound. With funk, mambo and New Orleans jazz influences woven into their signature style, the result is an exhilarating collection of songs and tunes.

Speaking about the album, Rossa Ó Snodaigh said,“This album breaks new ground, not only for Kíla but for Trad in general.”

Guitarist Brian Hogan added,“The brass adds a great depth and enormity to the sound.”

The album includes the high-energy single ‘Disco Pigs’, now available across digital platforms and from Crashed Records.

With 21 releases to date, countless collaborations and a reputation as one of the most captivating live acts in Irish music, Kíla continue to evolve while staying true to their roots. Their creativity and fearless approach make them a perfect fit for MPI.
